 Welcome

Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the IFHNOS World Tour Education Programme that is scheduled to take place in the autumn of 2008. Over a five week period a group of seven well known international specialists in Head and Neck Oncology, under the leadership of Professor Jatin Shah, will conduct eleven sequential symposia in different cities around the globe.
In London, we are privileged to be hosting the first of these meetings on the 29th and 30th September at the Royal Society of Medicine. Each meeting has been organized to cover a specific region and therefore there will be regional organizers in most countries. The London meeting will be particularly suitable for participants from the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Iceland. This programme will provide state-of-the-art knowledge and explore the frontiers of head and neck cancer diagnosis and treatment. Ample opportunity for interactive sessions between the local Faculty, attendees, and the Touring Faculty will be provided.
This is a wonderful and unique opportunity to take part in the inaugural symposium in what hopefully will become a regular biannual global Teaching Programme on head and neck oncology from leading specialists in the field. We are also privileged to invite Professor Christopher O'Brien, one of the touring faculty, to give his Semon Lecture. The Royal Society of Medicine provides excellent facilities with a large auditorium to accommodate what hopefully will be a very popular meeting. London in the autumn has a mild climate and offers the opportunity of many cultural and recreational activities. Early registration through our website is recommended. I look forward to seeing you all in London.
